Introduction
Screenova Meeting (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the ScreenOva Meeting app (“the app”) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
ScreenOva Meeting is a meeting-room and screen-sharing app. You can use it to join video meetings, share your screen, cast to a meeting-room display, and control a paired device remotely.
- We collect only the data needed to run meetings, screen sharing and remote control.
- We do not record your meetings.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads or use advertising or analytics trackers.
By using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Display name: the name you enter when joining a meeting. Other participants can see it.
- Meeting codes and pairing codes: used to connect you to the correct meeting or meeting-room display.
1.2 Camera, microphone and screen
- Camera video: used only when you turn on your camera during a meeting.
- Microphone audio: used only when you unmute your microphone during a meeting.
- Screen content and device audio: used only after you start screen sharing and approve Android's screen-capture prompt.
This content is streamed live to the other participants in your meeting. It is not recorded or stored by the app or by us.
1.3 Device information
When you join a meeting or pair with a meeting-room display, the app shares basic technical information about your device:
- Device name, manufacturer and model
- Operating system version
- Screen size and resolution
- Processor type, number of cores and total memory
- Network type (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
- App version
We use this information to show which device is connected and to choose settings that work well on your device.
1.4 Installation ID
When you first open the app, it creates a random identifier on your device. It is used only to recognise your device during pairing. It is not linked to your name, phone number or advertising ID, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
1.5 Remote-control input
During a remote-control session that you have approved, the app receives taps, swipes, key presses and text from the person controlling the device and performs them on the device. The app does not keep this input after the session.
1.6 Information we do not collect
We do not collect your:
- Contacts
- Location
- Photos, videos or files
- Phone number, call logs or SMS
- Advertising ID
- Passwords (any login details you enter stay only on your device)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above only to:
- Connect you to video meetings
- Stream your audio, video and screen to meeting participants
- Pair your device with meeting-room displays
- Enable remote control when you allow it
- Keep the app working reliably and securely
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or marketing.
3. App Permissions
| Permission | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Camera | Show your video in meetings, only when your camera is on. |
| Microphone | Send your voice in meetings, only when you are unmuted. |
| Screen capture and foreground service | Share your screen. Android shows a notification the whole time sharing is on, and you can stop it at any time. |
| Accessibility Service (optional, off by default) | Lets a paired controller perform taps, swipes and typing on your device during a remote-control session you approve. It does not read, collect or store your screen content or data from other apps. You must turn it on yourself and can turn it off at any time in Settings > Accessibility. |
| Device Administrator (optional, off by default) | Used only on dedicated meeting-room devices to keep the app on screen (kiosk mode). It is not used to lock, wipe or monitor your device. |
| Display over other apps | Show the remote cursor and presentation controls on top of other apps. |
| Notifications | Show the ongoing meeting or screen-sharing notification. |
| Wi-Fi and local network | Find and pair with ScreenOva displays on the same network. |
| Internet | Connect to meetings. |
You can revoke any permission at any time in Android Settings > Apps > ScreenOva Meeting > Permissions.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only in these cases:
- Meeting participants: people in the same meeting as you can see your display name, video and shared screen, hear your audio, and see your device information.
- LiveKit, Inc. (LiveKit Cloud): our real-time media service provider, which delivers audio, video and data between participants. All media is encrypted in transit. Its privacy policy is available at livekit.io/legal/privacy-policy.
- ScreenOva pairing service: receives pairing codes and device information to connect your device to a meeting-room display.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
5. Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following only on your device:
- App settings and theme preference
- Scheduled meetings
- Installation ID
This data does not leave your device except as described above. It is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
6. Data Retention
- Audio, video and screen content are streamed live and not stored.
- Device and pairing information is kept only during an active meeting or pairing session and is then deleted.
- Locally stored data stays on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
7. Data Security
We protect your information with industry-standard security measures:
- All connections are encrypted in transit (TLS and DTLS-SRTP).
- Remote-control messages are authenticated, so only the paired session can control a device.
- Screen sharing and remote control only work after you approve them.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Turn your camera, microphone or screen sharing on or off at any time during a meeting
- Revoke permissions in Android Settings
- Turn off the Accessibility Service or Device Administrator at any time
- Delete local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app
- Contact us to ask what data we hold about you or to request its deletion. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
ScreenOva Meeting is intended for business and general use by people aged 18 and above. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
